Outcome: Win.

Role: Townie.

Town: AshMC1984, CFK, James.Denholm, Johnny Rotten (replaced Bowwy), MagicMan31, Scott Brosius.

Mafia: Billssabresyanks, Xtoxm.

Day 1: I forced a lynch on obvious scum (Billssabresyanks) despite his cop claim.

Day 2: We lynched a townie (Johnny Rotten) largely due to a really bad gut read on my part.

Day 3: We lynched a townie (AshMC1984) who seemed legitimately scummy but who turned out to be right about one of his reads.

Day 4: The remaining two players both claimed to have solid town reads on me, so I held the deciding vote. I chose correctly and the town won, but a lot of it came down to my instinct—which had to redeem itself of the Day 2 lynch—and good luck.

Notes: As it was my first Mafia game ever, a correct Day 1 read considerably increased my self-confidence. It resulted in a terrible second and third day, but it also allowed me to enjoy the game without the hindrance of timid indecision. Great introduction to Mafia, but also a fun match on its own: suspenseful, well paced, and populated with intelligent players—and, hey, it even had a surprise ending (from my amateur point of view). Xtoxm, aligned mafia, played especially well as the IC, surviving to the endgame after losing his inexperienced teammate on Day 1. It was a cruel twist of fate for him to fall on the wrong side of my fifty-fifty shot at a correct Day 4 lynch.

Role: Townie.

Town: Brutal Assassin, FF7Kotrt, NabakovNabakov, Parhelic, Starbuck, Tuberkulos.

Mafia: catsup137 (replaced James.Denholm), Excedrin.

Day 1: I sniffed out a mafioso, but the town didn't buy my case. We wound up lynching a lurking replacement (catsup137), who by some minor miracle flipped mafia roleblocker.

Day 2: I proposed a practically foolproof follow-the-cop-type plan, and once we honed the plan to perfection I was policy-lynched for being the one to come up with it. At night, the remaining goon—the one I'd pegged on Day 1—committed suicide.

Notes: Fast match, but extremely frustrating. We got an outrageously lucky Day 1 lynch. The roleblocker's death meant we could follow the cop with ease: anticlimactic, but I was glad to get out of there. My abrasiveness and sarcasm had alienated just about the entire town to the point where people were building cases on my personality rather than my actions. I felt that the town flat-out didn't play well and was far too unfocused; on an individual level, most players did a really poor job of getting their priorities straight. On the upside, NabakovNabakov (IC), Parhelic, and Tuberkulos all played very well as proactive townies.

Notes: My attempt to play like less of a jerk. It was intended to be experimental, so I used an alternate account, but I made so many login mistakes that I just switched over to my main.
