X-Success
|
X-Success is a role modifier that limits a role to successfully resolving a certain amount of times. After the amount is reached, the role no longer functions. An X-Success role will need to be informed if their role has succeeded or not (which makes them a pseudo-Checker).
Standard version
An X-Success role may use their ability until they successfully use their ability X times. X-Success roles that are roleblocked should be refunded their successes and be informed that they didn't lose a success. A Role Cop investigating an X-Success role should be told how many successes it started with, regardless of how many remain.
Variations
X-shot limits how many times an ability can be attempted.
Recharged turns X-shot into X-success.
Sample Role PMs
The sample Role PM for "1-success" describes the modifier as follows:
- As a modifier on an active ability:
Each Night, until you successfully use your ability once,

P2 until your passive ability functions for one cycle

Example (modifying an active ability)
Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-success Jailkeeper.
You have the following active ability:
- Each Night, until you successfully use your ability once, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night.
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.
Example (modifying a passive ability)
Welcome to game! You are a 1-success Bulletproof Townie.
You are protected from kills that target you until your passive ability functions for one cycle.
You have no active abilities.
You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
