Having the option for players to vote for endgame gives players the power to officially end the game. This can be used as a clear indicator from the players that they are unhappy with the current state of the game and believe that the game isn't worth playing anymore. In cases where this displeasure comes from stagnation, having players vote for ending the game may motive others into contributing more in order to prevent the game from ending. Additionally, in cases where a mod disappears, players can use this vote to make it clear that they would prefer the game to be discontinued instead of having a backup or list mod try to salvage the game.

In most cases, if a majority of players vote for endgame then the game will result in a draw. However, some moderators may choose to end the game differently or require a unanimous vote to end the game.

Theme Games

In theme games, players may have non-normal win conditions. This could include only being able to win during a specific game state or requiring someone else to not achieve their own win condition. Eg. a survivor who would want the game to end as soon as possible in order to reduce the chances they will be killed or a player who can only win whilst there are 2 scum left alive. In cases where there are roles that actively benefit from the game ending early, the game will typically end in a mafia victory if no other win conditions are achieved. However, this means that voting to end the game could be seen as scummy and hence discourage using this option entirely.
