Split is a modifier that combines multiple roles into one action. A split role must use all of the constituent actions to act, and all constituent actions must target different targets. If a single action from a Split role is blocked e.g. from Ascetic, all constituent actions fail. A split role is not Compulsive by default, they may opt not to act.

Standard version

A Split role must use all of their non-factional abilities when they act and those non-factional abilities must target different players.

Variations

A Split role may only require that two actions on two distinct players be taken, and a factional kill may count as one of the constituent actions.

Split has been used as a modifier to a single role. In that case, you target two different players with the Split role at once. Double-Down is a clearer way to implement this, though a Split Neighborizer or similar role can still be distinct from a Double-Down Neighborizer (the former has two neighborhoods for example).

Welcome to game! You are a Mafia Split Rolecop.

Your team-mates are names. You may talk to them here during night phases and confirmations only.

Your active non-factional abilities are combined into a single action that targets different players for each constituent ability:

  • Each Night, if no other member of your faction is performing this action, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will die.
  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn that player's role (but not their alignment).

You win if at least one mafia member is alive and all other players are dead (or if nothing can prevent the same).

Example (personal actions only)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Split Jack of All Trades Cop Doctor.

Your active non-factional abilities are combined into a single action that targets different players for each constituent ability:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn whether that player wins with Town. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
