Before a game starts, the Game Moderator will send each player a Private Message containing some (but sometimes not all) details of their role. Under almost all rule sets, it is forbidden to explicitly quote from this message to defend yourself, though it may be a good play for you to roleclaim (truthfully or not) at some stage.
