A Mediator is a role that prevents two players from targeting each other the next Night.

Standard version

A Mediator can prevent two players from targeting each other for the next Night. A Mediator will inform their targets that the two targets have been mediated and they may not attempt to target each other for the next Night.

A Mediator's action will fail on both targets if it fails on one target.

Variations

An Arbitrator is a Mediator that also prevents the two targeted players from voting or targeting each other the next Day.

The standardized Role PM for "Mediator" describes the action as follows:

  • As an active action: you may target two players. Assuming no interference with your action, those two players will be unable to target each other for the next Night. (edit)

Example (simplest form)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Mediator.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target two players. Assuming no interference with your action, those two players will be unable to target each other for the next Night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (with modifiers)

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Mediator.

You have the following active ability:

  • Once in the game at Night, you may target two players. Assuming no interference with your action, those two players will be unable to target each other for the next Night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
