Alias: none
Alignment: any
Role type:
  • Protective
Choice:
  • Night
Status: No

A Divine Protector is a role that can protect someone from any action coming from a non-Town player.

Standard version

A Divine Protector will render their target immune to actions that come from players who are not aligned with the Town. Effectively, a divinely protected player is rolestopped from non-town players.

A scum-aligned Divine Protector will still protect someone from non-Town players, however their divine protection will still work.

Strongman kills ignore divine protection.

Use & Balance

A Divine Protector is a strong Town protective role, allowing town to target a player without issue but blocking any type of scum action.

Follow the Cop can arise from having both an investigative role and a Divine Protector in a setup. The typical remedy of adding a scum Roleblocker will not stop Follow the Cop if the protective role is a Divine Protector; the easiest way to break up the combination is with the Simple modifier.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Divine Protector" describes the action as follows:

  • As a targeted action: that player will be immune to actions from non-Town-aligned players. (edit)

Example (simplest form)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Divine Protector.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be immune to actions from non-Town-aligned players.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (with modifiers)

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Loud Divine Protector.

You have the following active ability:

  • Once in the game at Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be immune to actions from non-Town-aligned players. Your target will learn that you targeted them (but not what action you targeted them with).

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
