Cold-Blooded is a role modifier that makes it so nothing is triggered as a result of the player's role.

Standard version

A Cold-Blooded role doesn't trigger Reflexive abilities and other abilities that rely on actions to trigger.

Variations

A stronger version of Cold-Blooded may cause nothing to trigger with anything related to the slot, though this is considered to be a role instead of a modifier.

Stealthy is a modifier with similar flavor, that will hide a role from action investigators.

Use & Balance

Cold-Blooded can be used to safely target a Paranoid Gun Owner. It can be used if reflexive interactions would otherwise be complicated.

The standardized Role PM for "Cold-Blooded" describes the modifier as follows:

  • As a modifier on a single ability: Anything that would trigger as a result of this action doesn't trigger. (edit)
  • As a modifier that affects all abilities: Anything that would trigger as a result of your actions doesn't trigger. (edit)

Example (modifying a single ability)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Cold-Blooded Jailkeeper.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night. Anything that would trigger as a result of this action doesn't trigger.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Example (affecting all abilities)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Cold-Blooded Jack of All Trades Tracker Doctor.

Anything that would trigger as a result of your actions doesn't trigger.

You have the following active abilities, but may use only one per Night:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who that player targeted that night. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
