C/9ths is a 12 player Open Setup created by Xyzzy as what amounted to a challenge to create a setup based entirely on a witty name. Its name is a backronym from the odds that any particular protown player will have a power role - 1/9. This setup is no longer played due to the risk of Follow the Cop breaking strategies occurring.

Setup

  • 2 Mafia Goons
  • 0-10 Townies - Each town player has a 8/9 chance of being a townie
  • 0-10 Cops - Each town player has a 1/18 chance of being a cop
  • 0-10 Doctors - Each town player has a 1/18 chance of being a doctor

Mechanics

  • Daystart
  • The setup is randomised pregame by giving each town player a 1/9 chance of being a powerrole, and then a 50/50 between Cop/Doc if they land one.
  • There is no limit to the amount of Cops or Doctors that town could get.

Mafia Goon

  • Welcome, [Player Name]. You are a Mafia Goon, along with your partner, [Player Name].

Abilities:

  • Factional communication: During the night phase you may talk with your partner here [QuickTopic link].
  • Factional kill: Each night phase, one of you or your partner may perform the factional kill.

Win condition:

  • You win when all members of the town have been eliminated or nothing can prevent this from occurring.


Vanilla Townie

  • Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Vanilla Townie.

Abilities:

  • Your weapon is your vote, you have no night actions.

Win condition:

  • You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.


Town Cop

  • Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Town Cop.

Abilities:

  • Each night phase, you may investigate one player in the game by PM'ing the mod. You will get results back in the form of Town/Mafia.
  • You know you are guaranteed to be sane.

Win condition:

  • You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.


Town Doctor

  • Welcome, [Player Name], you are a Town Doctor.

Abilities:

  • Each night phase, you may protect one player in the game from being nightkilled.

Win condition:

  • You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated.
