Status: No

An Arbitrator is a role that prevents two players from voting each other or targeting each other for the next Day/Night cycle.

Standard version

An Arbitrator can prevent two players from casting votes on each other or targeting each other for the next Day and Night. An Arbitrator will inform their targets that the two targets have been arbitrated and they may not vote or target each other for the next Day/Night cycle.

An Arbitrator's action will fail on both targets if it fails on one target.

Variations

Arbitrator, like any voting role, can have the vote portion of the role stop working in ELo or MeLo. In that case the players should know they still can vote.

Sample Role PMs

The standardized Role PM for "Arbitrator" describes the action as follows:

  • As an active action: you may target two players. Assuming no interference with your action, those two players will be unable to vote each other or target each other for the next Day and Night. (edit)

Example (simplest form)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Arbitrator.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target two players. Assuming no interference with your action, those two players will be unable to vote each other or target each other for the next Day and Night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (with modifiers)

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Arbitrator.

You have the following active ability:

  • Once in the game at Night, you may target two players. Assuming no interference with your action, those two players will be unable to vote each other or target each other for the next Day and Night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
