Strong-Willed is a role modifier; it usually means that the player's abilities cannot be redirected or Roleblocked. However, any result that may be attained can still be tampered with by roles that alter informational results, such as Framer. In short, it greatly increases the chance of the player's ability working like the player wants it to.

Some moderators will ambiguously use this to mean that the strong-willed player cannot be recruited (by Cult, Neighborizer, and so forth). If you are not sure, consult with the moderator.

Strong-Willed is not to be confused with Juggernaut.

Normal version

This modifier is on the Experimental Role List, and is currently allowed in Complex Normal games.

A Strong-Willed ability cannot be stopped unless attempting to target a commuting player.

Variations

Strong-Willed is a role modifier that protects from roleblocking, redirection, or your target's protection. Other modifiers may exist that omit some of these abilities.

The list of role modifiers that are variants of Strong-Willed:

Unblockable - Can't be blocked, can be protected from or redirected.
Unprotectable - Can't be protected from, can be blocked or redirected.
Unredirectable - Can't be redirected, can be blocked or protected from.
Unstoppable - Can't be blocked or protected from, can be redirected.
Empowered - Can't be blocked or redirected, can be protected from.
Piercing - Can't be protected from or redirected, can be blocked.
Strong-Willed - Can't be blocked, protected from, or redirected. Roles like Commuter or Enchanter will still affect even Strong-Willed roles.

Use & Balance

Strong-Willed is usually incorporated for thematic purposes, or to specifically counter a particular role (like Juggernaut is). However, in practice it does not make a very large difference.

  • As a modifier on a single ability: This action cannot be blocked or otherwise interfered with. (edit)
  • As a modifier that affects all abilities: Your actions cannot be blocked or otherwise interfered with. (edit)

Example (modifying a single ability)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Strong-Willed Jailkeeper.

You have the following active ability:

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from kills that night, but all their actions will be blocked that night. This action cannot be blocked or otherwise interfered with.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Confirm by replying to this PM with a summary of your role.

Example (affecting all abilities)

Welcome to game! You are a Town Strong-Willed Jack of All Trades Tracker Doctor.

Your actions cannot be blocked or otherwise interfered with.

You have the following active abilities, but may use only one per Night:

  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who that player targeted that night. (You will get "no result" if this action is blocked.)
  • Once in the game at night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from one kill that night.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
