The Seraph Knight is a role that may only choose one target at Night throughout the entire game. From then until either the Seraph Knight or its target dies, the target is protected from all kills made against them.

In effect, it is a fixed and permanent Doctor.

It is not necessarily Town-aligned, but has been in practice.

Standard version

A Seraph Knight may select one player during the night. As long as the Seraph Knight is still alive, that player is protected from any killing actions.

Variations

The original version of this role was actually more powerful - the Seraph Knight prevented all abilities used by anti-Town players from affecting its target.

Seraph Knights are almost universally 1-shot. However, some variants may be able to use their role again if their original target dies.

Use & Balance

The fact that the Seraph Knight cannot change who it protects is not as big a deal as the amount of protection it gives its target. A Seraph Knight forces the scum to live with some particularly favored player until the Seraph Knight's death. This can potentially exacerbate Follow the Cop-esque situations, especially if the stronger variant is used.

With that in mind, a Mafia-aligned Seraph Knight is much more reasonable, although it is only useful in games that have multiple Mafia groups. In a game with only an SK, it may as well be slightly less useful than a Mafia Doctor.

Play Advice

You should use your protection as soon as you spy an obvious Townie. If this is Night 1, well and good, but do your best not to accidentally protect scum.

  • Each Night, you may target a player. Assuming no interference with your action, that player will be protected from all killing actions for as long as you are alive.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.

Welcome to game! You are a Town 1-shot Loud Seraph Knight.

You win if all threats to the town are eliminated and at least one town-aligned player is alive.
