Outguessing the Mod

Outguessing the Mod, or Pseudo-Metagaming, is the act of trying to infer the roles and mechanics in the game you are presently in based on attempts to recreate the moderator's thought process from when they were designing the game. For a simple example, if a player is a Godfather, they can be reasonably sure that the town has some sort of investigation role that detects guiltiness.

Most moderators specifically design their setups to punish this, though - nobody wants to design a "cookie cutter" setup - so this does not work very often at all.
