I prefer the term "werewolf" but "mafia" comes out more naturally - I'm working on changing that.

history

  • - I first discovered "mafia" in October 2015. With only the most basic concepts of the game down I jumped headfirst into an extremely complex game (day-missions + a pro-town sub-faction) with an exceptional group of mostly veteran players (some of them having played for over 10 years) and BAM, I was hooked. HOOKED!
  • - 4 days later I went to a party with a new friend and a handful of people at the party were like "let's play werewolf around the campfire!" I was like "OHFUCK YES! I just discovered it and am playing my first game online!" They'd never heard of an online version. We played 2 games (9players), I was wolf in the 2nd game, had to bus my buddy D2 (he was obvious), and on the final day had to out 1v1 the 2nd most experienced player there who had drawn seer, and won.
    - From there it was clear to me Werewolf was meant to be in my life.
I prefer the term "werewolf" but "mafia" comes out more naturally - I'm working on changing that.

how I play

 LYNCH ALL LIARS
  • In my first game there was the talk of "oh, so-and-so usually does that as town" or something similar and my brain went "well I have to play in a way to never let THAT sort of read get established! that seems like bad strategy" and so I've been playing with that mentality forever.
  • Sometimes I decide how I'm going to come at a game before it starts and stick with it, sometimes I change my mind.
  • Sometimes I decide how I'm going to play based on familiarity with the player-list, sometimes I change my mind.
  • Most times the game itself; flavor, playerlist, and overall "feel" of the game, determines for me how I approach the game.
one thing remains constant for me game-to-game: change
  • Yes, I'm still relatively new and learning more with each game and that brings about change, but I hope I never reach a point where I can become predictable.
 predictability does NOT equal readability
